Vision, Values, Ethos & Mission

A statement on our schools ethos and values.

At St. Wilfrid’s we endeavour to follow the example of Jesus Christ by loving, respecting, understanding and forgiving each other. It is our belief that the best education is achieved by delivering an ambitious curriculum which nurtures the intellectual, spiritual and social development of each child.

Every member of our school community is unique and makes an important contribution to school life.  For our children, we strive to develop self-esteem and a positive self-image which leads to pride in their achievements and an ability to reach their full potential, physically, academically, mentally and spiritually.

We believe that Gospel values should pervade every part of the curriculum and the way it is delivered.  We foster a welcoming atmosphere and support parents and families in the nurture and development of their child’s learning and wellbeing.  Staff are valued and encouraged to develop and enrich their own lives.

St Wilfrid’s is part of a family within the Bishop Wilkinson Trust: children and families; staff and governors; our parish; our feeder school – Cardinal Hume Catholic School and the wider community we serve.
